A seasoned Software Engineer who loves building clean, reliable systems. I’m passionate about solving complex problems with simple solutions. You’ll usually find me tinkering with code, learning new tech, or enjoying great food, video games and coffee.

About Me

When I’m not coding, I’m naturally curious and always eager to learn new things. I’m the kind of person who loves fixing stuff — whether it’s my car, my computer, or pretty much anything I own. I’m also a bit of a tool collector and enjoy tackling repairs whenever something breaks.

Cooking is another passion of mine, and if I had to pick a specialty, it’d definitely be pasta 🍝. You’ve got to try my roasted cherry tomato pasta sometime!

I’m a family guy and a devoted husband. I’m also an animal lover — mostly a dog person, but I have a red-eared slider turtle named Hugo 🐢 who’s part of the family too.

Work

Most of my 8+ years developing software has been spent on proprietary code and projects. I’ve worked across the fintech industry for several years, I’ve built a handful of custom e-commerce apps (FE and BE) and also a decent number of mobile apps throughout my professional career. Here’s what I’ve been up to as of late, though:

• Built efficient, scalable backends with NestJS + TypeScript
• Led teams of senior developers through complex codebase migrations while maintaining zero downtime
• Built a low-code API solution with NestJS to allow clients to build their own APIs with pre-configured secure fintech integrations
• Built several front end features for mobile apps built with React Native
• Built an API for cash back rewards systems on credit card transactions. Built it with Clojure, Reitit, Ring, Kafka and Datomic
